One of the most exciting young players in the game is 26-year-old Australian Min Woo Lee. “Woozy” as they call him, has shown flashes of excellence in big time tournaments including the Players and the Masters, but prior to this week, he had yet to break through on the PGA Tour.

As the younger brother of LPGA Tour star and 2-time major champion Minjee Lee, Min Woo has been open about the expectations and pressure he’s put on himself to live up to the family’s name. On the latest season of the Netflix Special “Full Swing” Min Woo said he wants to prove people wrong and that he’s “more than just a social media guy.”

His first couple of seasons on the PGA Tour were wildly inconsistent. But Lee has shown this year that he’s able to compete more regularly. Already with four top-20 finishes in 2025, Lee arrived at the Houston Open with his sights set on a trophy.

Lee started fast on Thursday and Friday. Despite rain and wind he was able to card rounds of 66 and 64, setting himself up for a chance to make another run at his first title. On moving day, Lee really flexed his muscles, shooting a bogey-free 63 to open up a four-shot cushion heading into the final round.

Even with such a big lead, it’s been proven in the past that no lead is safe. With major champs like Scheffler, McIlroy, Woodland, and Clark all chasing him down, he would need his A game to come through on Sunday. Lee looked fairly solid and unbothered for most of the final round,  a blocked drive into the water on the par-5 16th resulted in a bogey. Lee saw his lead that was once five shots dwindle down to just one with two holes to play.

Lee entered the 72nd hole still holding that one-shot lead. His approach found the fringe on the back of the green, and a superb lag putt allowed Lee to tap-in with ease and claim his first PGA Tour win. Min Woo and Minjee Lee now become just the third brother/sister duo to win on the PGA and LPGA Tour’s.

Winner’s Bag - Min Woo Lee

Callaway staffer Min Woo Lee claimed his first tour title in Houston on Sunday after posting an impressive 20-under-par (tournament record) to hold off a slew of major champions.

Driver: Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond (8.5 degrees)

Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 X

Part of his success this week was his advantage off the tee. Lee plays the new Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond (8.5 degrees w/ Fujikura Venus Blue 6X shaft) that helped him finish fifth in driving distance on the week. While he actually lost strokes to the field for the tournament, that was mostly in part due to a poor performance off the tee in the 4th round. He ranked inside the top 30 in Strokes Gained off the Tee in Rounds 1 through 3, but then ranked 69th in Sunday's Final Round, which skews his performance with his driver greatly.

3-wood: Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond (16.5 degrees)

Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Blue 9 X

He carries just one fairway wood, also the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond at 16.5 degrees. We are seeing more players opt for the loft of a 4-wood in either their 3-wood or 5-wood these days. That little extra loft (if adding to a 3-wood) or that little extra distance (if turning down a 5-wood) seems to help players find that perfect medium between ball flight and distance, making it an ideal fit for a player as both an option off the tee, or into the green on longer par 5's.

Utility iron: Callaway X-Forged UT (18 degrees)

Shaft: True Temper AMT Tour White X100

Lee has mastered the “stinger” and he often hits it off the tee with his Callaway X-Forged UT.

Irons: Callaway X Forged (4, 5), Callaway Apex Prototype (6-10)

Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100

His iron set is made up of Callaway X Forged (4- and 5-iron), along with Callaway Apex Prototypes (6-10). Min Woo's approach to green game was very good all week long. He hit 51 of 72 greens in regulation, which tied him for the 25th best performance, yet he was better in Strokes Gained, finishing 15th in his Strokes Gained Approach To Green for the week, gaining 3.979 strokes overall.

Wedges: Callaway Opus (50-10S), Titleist Vokey Design SM10 (56-08M), Titleist Vokey Design WedgeWorks (60-T)

Shafts: Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 S

ron), along with Callaway Apex Prototypes (6-10 iron w/ Dynamic Gold TI X100 shafts). Around the greens, Lee plays three different types of wedges. He has one Callaway Opus gap wedge (50 degrees), a Titleist Vokey SM10 sand wedge (56 degrees), and a Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks lob wedge (60 degrees). All three wedges contain the Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Tour 120S shafts. Like his iron play, these wedges were very good, as he also finished 15th in Strokes Gained Around the Green. Part of that due to his ability to scramble as he converted 16 of his 21 opportunities, which was tied for the 13th best performance of the week.

The biggest factor in Lee’s victory this week was his Odyssey O-Works 1W putter. Lee finished second in strokes gained putting and seemed automatic most of the week. He finished 2nd in Putts per GIR, averaging 1.57 putts for each green he hit in regulation, and he also finished 6th in Total Feet of Putts Made, finishing the week with 86 feet of putts made.
