Lauren Coughlin continued her stellar summer by picking up her 2nd win of the season at the Women's Scottish Open. With the win, Coughlin has now clinched a spot on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team for the first time in her career.

Coughlin is a PING staffer, and plays exclusively PING throughout her bag. Most of her clubs are current generation models, though she does go back a model for her hybrids.

Driver: PING G430 MAX 10K (9 Degrees @ 9.75)

Shaft: KBS TD 50 Cat 3

Coughlin starts her bag off with the new PING G430 MAX 10K Driver. She plays a 10-degree head adjusted down to 9.75 degrees with a KBS TD 50 Cat 3 shaft in it. She has her driver tipped half an inch, and plays it at a swingweight of D2. Her driver was both plenty long and plenty accurate throughout her win. Coughlin found 47 of 56 fairways over the course of four rounds. She was also plenty long, averaging 275 yards off the tee, though that number is slightly skewed by some very different averages over the rounds. In Round 1, she averaged 246 yards off the tee, in round 2 she avered 260, while in round 3 she averaged 294 and in the final round she averaged 301 yards off the tee. Now conditions definitely played their part, but a 55 yard difference in average driving distance between two rounds is something you don't see often.

3-Wood: PING G430 Max (15 Degrees @ 14)

Shaft: KBS TD 60 Cat 3

Moving to her fairway wood where Coughlin games a PING G430 Max 3-Wood. Like her driver she opts for maximum forgiveness, and also lofts it down, playing her 3-wood at 14 degrees rather than 15. This gives her another option off the tee, which was probably true for the first two rounds of the tournament, but also an option to go at Par 5's in 2 with, with the confidence of knowing she'll have a forgiving, high-launching wood to attack with.

Hybrids: PING G425 (3, 4, 5)

Shafts: Graphite Design AD DI Hy 85 S (3), PING Tour 2.0 85 S (4, 5)

Staying in the long game portion of her bag, but switching over to her hybrids where Coughlin goes back a generation for all 3 of her hybrids, playing the PING G425. She plays a Graphite Design AD DI shaft in her 3 hybrid, while going with the PING Tour 2.0 shafts in both her 4 and 5 hybrids. Her 3 hybrid plays at 19 degrees, while her 4 hybrid is lofted down to 21 from 22, and she sets it up a degree flat. Her 5 hybrid is set at 26 degrees. While she has a larger gap loft wise between her 4 and 5 hybrids, compared to her 3 and 4, it obviously suits the distance and flight she wants.

Irons: PING i230 (6-PW), PING Blueprint S (UW)

Shafts: KBS PGI 90 (6), KBS Black C-Taper Lite 105 R (7-PW), KBS C-Taper Lite 110 Stiff (UW)

For her irons, Coughlin primarily plays PING i230's and then finishes off the irons with a PING Blueprint S UW. The Blueprint S UW gives her a little more consistent gap wedge than an i230 but still provides her a club designed for full swings. Her irons along with her hybrids were one of the stars of the weekend. Coughlin hit 55 of 72 greens in regulation, which included a perfect 18 of 18 in Saturday's 3rd round. That gave her plenty of looks at birdie, and she made plenty of those during her victory.

Wedges: PING s159 Raw (54S, 58T)

Shafts: KBS C-Taper Lite 110 S

For her more traditional wedges, Coughlin goes with PING's newest wedge, the S159. She opts for the Raw finish in both her 54 and 58 degree wedges. She plays the S grind for her 54 and T grind for 58. They certainly played their part in her approach game, but they were also stellar around the greens, including going a perfect 5 for 5 in sand save opportunities, including both instances in Sunday's final round which kept her comfortably in front of the field.

Moving to the flat stick where Coughlin rocks a PING PLD Milled Oslo 3. The half-moon shaped mallet is designed for players with a slight arc in their putting stroke. Coughlin plays hers at 35 inches at a 20 degree lie angle with 3 degrees of loft. Like her wedges, her putter was excellent throughout. She averaged 28 putts per round over the tournament, with her highest daily total of 30 coming on the same day she hit every green in regulation. On Sunday, she had exactly 28 putts, and that included a string of 7 one-putts in a row down the stretch to clinch the victory.
